Oreo-Cheesecake Cupcakes

For my mom's birthday, she got the Martha Stewart's Cupcakes book, and we decided to make some for our neighbor's birthday. It's called Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes. I made the batter of cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, eggs, sour cream, salt and crushed Oreos. I put Oreos at the bottom of the cupcake liners and then filled them with the batter and baked them.

They were really easy to make and tasted delicious!

Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix

I ran out of my Swiss Miss cocoa powder, so I wanted to try making it my own this time. We had a lot of extra powdered milk from the candy corn, and that's what it needed.

So, I mixed together the milk, cocoa, powdered sugar, salt, and cornstarch and poured it in my giant, five-pound container of the Swiss Miss. I tried it, and it was like dark chocolate hot cocoa mix. It was really good!

Jelly Belly Factory

On the way to visit my Aunt Wendy in Michigan, we stopped in Pleasant Prairie, WI for a visit to the Jelly Belly factory. We got a free tour of how the beans are made, and we even got a free bag of jelly beans! Here's my picture in front of the Jelly Belly slugbug.

At the sample bar, there were normal flavors like cherry, lemon, etc... and there were flavors like: baby wipes, centipede, pencil shavings, moldy cheese, rotten egg, barf, canned dog food, skunk spray, booger, and toothpaste.

We chose for eachother which one we should eat, and my dad had to eat barf.

My cousin Alex made me eat baby wipes. My mom ate rotten egg, DJ had canned dog food, Alex had pencil shavings, and in the end we all had toothpaste to freshen our mouths.

Chocolate Truffles

I'm sorry for not making anything in a while. I've been busy with things like homework. These truffles tasted like milk-chocolate-covered fudge! It was SO good! We made ganache out of dark chocolate and covered them in milk chocolate. I had a bunch of extra tempered milk chocolate, so I made more peanut butter batter, rolled it into balls, and dipped those in the chocolate. I got to lick the bowl, even the thermometer! So, wrapping it all up, I would recommend trying the recipe!
